I am the wrong day out...
It's almost 3AM and I'm still up...this blows.
Spent some QT w/ the fam this weekend in vegas. It was interesting. I realize how little time I spend with them, esp w/ Auntie Winda visiting from the PI and all. It was fun to have dinner with them; we ate at Trevi @ Cesar's Palace and then gambled afterward. So funny to watch how excited pop gets everytime he wins on the slots, even if it's a little...it brought a smile to my face just to watch them over at the slots while I was losing my money on 3-card poker...that game is so frickin addicting. Mom's funny...from her thinking she won over $1000 on the slots at IP but realizing that she was sitting at a penny machine so her winnings ended up only being $60 bucks to her thinking our tortillas at el pollo loco were "sunflower" tortillas(because she was asking which ones we got and I said there's SOME flower and SOME corn, to her just bing strange and silly, we all had a good share of laughs. Gambing-wise, didn't lose too much this weekend...spent more than i actually lost on gambling. If it wasn't for that stupid 3-card poker stint at the palace, then I would've actually been in the black for a change. So I'm not too disappointed.
Averell told me this story about him being at City Walk today. He was watching Jalen(my godson) playing at the fountains and this old man comes by and gives Averell a look, and then looks at the kid. Averell gives himi a nod and the old man says, "If only we could be kids again." Simply stated, and so true. The care-free life of a two-year-old. No worries, no staying up late because he has too much on his mind, no anxiety...just chillin, so to speak.
Maybe counting sheep will help. I remember once I tried it...and I got to over 200 and didn't even get tired at all. I was imagining how they were jumping the fence, and how they looked after they landed...if after 200 there was just like a huge pile of sheep chillin there, or if they get out of the way for the sheep after...hmmm, maybe the sheep thing won't work afterall..I'll try counting marbles or something....
